I wish there were more movies with gay/lesbian sex scenes in addressing the diversity question. I'd like to see more loving LGBT couples. They're usually my favorite characters in a movie!

Sex is not a big deal to me as far as movies go. Although, if they're gonna show a fully naked woman in a movie, I WANT TO SEE A NAKED MAN, TOO. Seriously. No eye candy for the ladies? Shame shame, movie industry.

Also, sex shouldn't just be injected at random times. It should have a meaning and purpose to the plot because otherwise it feels forced and out of place to me unless they're a couple anyway. Even then, I don't want them shagging at random times unless that benefits the artistic style of the film or enhances the story.

Personally that is my view as well, I don't like in the comedy films when it just goes excessive. However, I think it is alright to have in films because it's a natural thing and people shouldn't be overly scared about it.

I just don't get it. Sure, I know how societal taboos have made the image of sex hold a certain exploitative value, which advertisers and media companies are not afraid to use to get our attention. Sometimes, I'll even admit to seeking out the image of sex, just out of curiosity.

However, sex itself has fairly little appeal to me. I fail to see why people trip all over themselves on account of it--or even the mere image of it. However, I know that my attitudes are in the minority and with good reason: if everybody else found damn near everything that much more interesting than sex, we wouldn't exist to have this conversation.

I bet you can't guess how I swing.

I feel that these scenes have gone too far in some cases. Like the movie makers think that a guy and a girl can't have a relationship without having sex. I think that relationships should be based on love for a person's personality and not on sex and that it should be portrayed as such in the movies. I mean think about it. Do you want you son or daughter thinking that sex is a required part of a relationship? Or would you rather they think of just being with the other person to be with them?

I think when sex scenes first showed up in movies it was to get past the over controlling censors and show people that sex is just a part of life. Now that people realize it IS a part of life, filmmakers may feel pressured that having a movie without a sex scene will make it unrealistic.
Of course now and then crazy people just go overboard but that's usually in B-rated comedy movies.
I think as long as it doesn't become the focal point of a movie and it doesn't get any more graphic than it is now, sex scenes are okay.

One of the best things I have ever been told about sex scenes in films, is to remember that somewhere off camera, a sound man is holding a boom mic and eating a pork pie.
